Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Mt. Rwenzori Hike-Lake Mahoma Trail Hiking Tour
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyakalengija
5 Days Mt. Rwenzori Hike-Lake Mahoma Trail Hiking Tour starts at the Entebbe International Airport where you picked up by a company driver guide who transfers you to Kasese-Nyakalengija. The journey takes 6-7 hours with lunch en-route at Mubende. Dinner and overnight at the Ruboni Community Camp.
Day 2: Transfer from Nyakalengija to Omuka kizza (2400m)
Wakeup early have breakfast then embark on a guided walk to Lake Mahoma. The Trail follows through rainforests along the Kyambogho ride and offers stunning views at the Rwenzori Mountains, Mubuku Valley, Blue Monkeys, Colobus Monkeys, as well as the Rwenzori Turaco and three horned chameleon. Dinner and Overnight will be at the Omuka kizza camp.
Day 3: Hike from Omuka kizza to Lake Mahoma (3000m)
Wake up have breakfast then embark on a guided walk to Lake Mahoma. Transfer through the Bamboo and Heather Forest along the ridge that follows to the Rukenga Valley and en-route, enjoy views of the Forest Elephants or their foot prints, Giant Lobelias at an elevation of 8 meters and flowers hence a stunning place to take numerous photos to keep for memories. Dinner and Overnight at the Campsite close to Lake Mahoma.
Day 4: Transfer from Lake Mahoma back to Nyakalengija
Wake up have breakfast then enjoy a guided walk around viewing Lake Mahoma which is the deepest along Mountain Rwenzori. After the walk, descend through Mpanga Ridge to Mubuku Valley then to Nyakalengija for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight at Ruboni Community Camp.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage, depart back to Kampala or Entebbe. Have en-route lunch in Mubende then proceed to Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back home.
