Detailed Itinerary of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorillas, Chimps & Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival and City Tour-Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you are picked up by a company driver guide who transfers you through Kigali to Volcanoes National Park located in Ruhengeri District. You have lunch en-route after visiting the various Genocide Memorials, National Museums and Markets. Transfer for approximately 2 to 3 hours and when you reach the Park, proceed to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla Views Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up very early have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later you are distributed into groups of 8 by a park ranger then later you transfer to penetrate the green forest vegetation to track the Gorillas for 3-5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking numerous photos to keep for memories.
After Gorilla trekking, return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Wake up have breakfast then transfer with your luggage to Akagera National Park known to have bamboo vegetation and various wildlife animal species. Have lunch en-route then later proceed on your transfer to the Park and when you reach here, check-in your lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the Park to enjoy a Game Drive along the various tracks in the Park watching numerous wildlife animals wandering around their natural Savannah vegetation. After your Game Drive, break off for lunch then proceed on an afternoon Boat Cruise along Lake Ihema. Here watch Hippo, crocodiles and other wildlife animals. After the cruise, transfer back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the beautiful Nyungwe Forest National Park. You transfer enjoying views of the green forest vegetation, birds as well as have lunch. Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest
Wake up early then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the rare species of Chimpanzees then later in groups of 6 with a park ranger guide, transfer to the Cyamudongo Forest located a few kilometers off Nyungwe Forest National Park to track the rare species of Chimpanzees. Track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours depending on thei location in the forest and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking numerous photos to keep for memories.
After Chimpanzee Tracking, proceed back to your lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Gisakura Guesthouse, Nyungwe Hill Top View Hotel.
Day 7: Departure to Kigali
Wake up have breakfast then later with your luggage, embark on a transfer to Kigali or the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
